Congratulations to KHS Senior Madeline Krueger, recipient of the 2019 Starke County Community Foundation Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. Madeline is the daughter of Todd and Judi Ringle of Knox, and Ronald Krueger of Fox Lake, IL.
Since enrolling in the Knox Schools her third grade year, Madeline has participated in many extra-curricular activities. She is currently an officer of National Honor Society, Student Council, 4-H, and Jr. Leaders. Madeline is a ten-year 4-H member, four-year tennis player and Drama Club member, and a two-time HNAC math competitor.
As a Lilly recipient, Madeline has been awarded a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to any accredited public or private college or university in Indiana. She plans to attend Purdue University in Lafayette where she will study architectural engineering. The scholarship also provides $900 per year for books and equipment.
Madeline credits the Knox teaching staff for helping her prepare for college. She notes that "the teachers go above and beyond to prepare us for our future plans. They are very supportive and involved with the students and their endeavors."
