PUBLIC HEARING



Agenda Topic: Presentation of and acceptance of public comments for Ed-Flex waivers for
increased flexibility in paraprofessional requirements and in Title IV spending requirements.
A public hearing will be held regarding Ed-Flex Waiver #2: KCSC is seeking a waiver for increased flexibility in the hiring process of paraprofessionals for all schools. KCSC is seeking approval that a paraprofessional hired can be identified as highly qualified with the completion of 15 hours of assigned professional development modules/training within the2025-2026 School year.
A public hearing will be held regarding Ed-Flex Waiver #4: KCSC is seeking a waiver for increased flexibility in Title IV spending requirements. KCSC is seeking approval to spend Title IV funds in Focus Areas A (Well-Rounded Education) and B (Safe and Healthy Schools).
With the approval of these waivers, KCSC anticipates an increase of 5% or more annually in student performance on ELA, math, and reading assessment scores in Grades K-12.
